With 85 years of experience behind us, RFL has continuously improved its system design and manufacturing process utilizing state of the art technologies.

RFL manufactures modules utilizing state of the art (SMT) Surface Mount Technology equipment.  As a result of this automated assembly process, component handling is reduced and reliability is improved.  This process allows RFL to incorporate the most up to date components available, and results in improved performance across it’s entire product line.                                                           
                                                                      
In addition, RFL utilizes (AOI) Automated Optical Inspection.  This process utilizes high power optics and programmed acceptance criteria to insure quality modules.  Reduced handling again reduces the chance of latent defects being introduced into the product.  All SMT modules are inspected 100% utilizing this equipment.

RFL is a company in continuous transition toward improved product quality and reliability.  Recently, RFL has implemented “Lean” techniques throughout the organization.  RFL  reviewed all of its process, with the objective of eliminating all waste and enhancing value to our customers.  In manufacturing, we have implemented Demand Flow Manufacturing.

Demand Flow Manufacturing is a process triggered by a customer requirement.  The organization is set up to pull material from previous operations as it is used, eliminating extra material.  The system relies on visual ques to begin the execution of a plan.  Areas (work cells) are clearly marked as to the input side of the operation and the output side of the operation.  The work cells are designed to minimize handling and wasted effort.
