| The EXMUX 3500™ is a substation hardened IP Access Multiplexer engineered to seamlessly transport Voice, Data, and Ethernet communications over Ethernet networks; providing the flexibility of backward compatibility with legacy devices and forward compatibility with IP devices on the same communications platform.
The EXMUX 3500™ can support any network topology such as linear, star and ring configurations. When set up as a ring, the DS0 interfaces can be programmed to transmit to both WAN ports simultaneously, allowing data to be recovered without losing a single bit during a fiber cut.
The EXMUX 3500™ uses the latest TDMoIP technology and an integrated Layer 2 Managed Switch, which allows the unit to support legacy interfaces such as RS-232, RS-449, V.35, X.21, G.703, C37.94 and Voice; along with IP solutions. The ability to recover from a fiber cut without losing a single bit ensures future demands such as Teleprotection and Relaying over Ethernet.
A two wire telephone service channel is incorporated to provide in-band voice communication to any EXMUX 3500™ connected to the network. The EXMUX 3500™ comes with an advanced visual graphical Network Management Software for Operations,
Administration, Maintenance and Provisioning (OAM&P) that makes configuration, channel mapping and diagnostics effortless
