LEAN CHAMPION

In this highly visible role the Lean Manufacturing Champion will identify Lean improvement opportunities and lead, manage and execute Kaizen events to steadily eliminate waste, improve quality and reduce production time and costs. Serve as a change agent by stimulating, communicating and institutionalizing Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Link lean activities to business objectives by developing and maintaining detailed value stream maps, metrics and control plans for the key manufacturing processes. Has the overall responsibility for the scheduling, planning, execution and sustenance of Kaizen events. Educate and mentor all colleagues of the organization about Lean tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, set-up reduction, visual management, etc.

Qualifications include Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management. The preferred candidate must have formal Lean training from an academic organization. A Lean Certification is preferred. In addition, must have 5 or more years of hands on practice implementing Lean Manufacturing processes and have demonstrated experience in driving change and process improvement. Must be PC literate, capable of working with personnel at all levels of the organization and have exceptional organizational, coaching and communication skills.
